Singing as an Avenue Of Expression

How To Sing BetterYou know, the throat is your expressive center. On a psychological level it is where we express ourselves, not just when we sing, but when we speak as well.

More importantly it is also the place where we express our selves as human beings. Meaning, how we express the indiduality of who and what we are. This expression can also be an expression in arts such as painting, love, sexuality, and emotions such as anger and grief.

OK, so this is sounding a bit deep, but it is both important and interesting. So keep reading! It may help you how to sing better.

When there are blockages in self expression, there will also be a blockage in your throat which can influence your singing voice. Funny, isn't it, how many of the Opera singers are known to be temperamental and quite verbal when they are displeased.

In other words, they are known to throw tantrums. :) They probably don't have a lot of locked up emotion or other stuff in their throats.

One thing I've noticed that since doing my every day singing lessons, I'm much more "lose" in my throat. It feels spacious and comfortable there. In the past when singing along with the radio in the car, my throat would start to hurt and feel tight only a few minutes into the "singing". After wokring with the Singorama program, not only have I now learned that I was singing incorrectly, (whoda thunk???) but the training has also opened up some stiffened structures in my throat. That feels really really good.

So. I think that by learning to sing, you will see benefits in other aspects of your life as well. You can feel more free being who you are. I love it! Not only do I feel more free, I have gained a lot of self confidence, and I feel pretty good about myself in all aspects. And I really hope you will consider learning to sing using a really well planned out and professional course, it can change a lot, besides it's just plain old fun!
